Doctor Updates....
Yesterday Kennedy went to the Pediatrician for her well check and immunizations. Everything went well and our little chunk of love is still in the 98 percentile for height and weight.
Today we had our first of many visits at the Retina Eye Foundation in Dallas,Texas. Here Kennedy has become part of a study on Infantile Nystagmus. She participated in two different tests today. One measured her visual acuity by measuring her glances towards various stripes on huge boards that were rotated in many directions. This tests took about 20 minutes. Kennedy did very well however, became very distracted towards the end. The doctor stated that at this time her visual acuity seems to be 20/130. This was wonderful news. Legally Blind is 20/200!!!! She is about 3 letter lines on the vision chart away from "normal." 20/130 is on the very low end of "normal" but, in my eyes is it still perfect. The doctor stated that it could be a little off either way however, it seems as though she got distracted at the end and may have been able to progress one or two cards more had she been focused. The second test measured her nystagmus. This test was a struggle. Justin held Kennedy's arms down, I held her head straight and the doctor held these huge, ugly, binocular looking goggles on her head. The goggles had lights in them that measured her nystagmus. It is amazing that the test was able to be completed with all her screaming, tears, body thrusting and all out fit throwing. I felt awful for her because it looked like we were all performing some weird sci-fi test on her. She must have been petrified!!!! They will follow Kennedy's development for as long as possible. Next Appt: December 2009!!!!
Following the Retina Eye Foundation Appt. we headed upstairs in the same building to Dr. Carder (dermatologist.) This appt. was overall great. There is one tiny mole/freckle that has just surfaced that we must watch. Nothing alarming, just something to be aware of. We go back in one yr!!!
As for me.... many of you have been asking what my current situation is with the atypical cells in my cervix.
Quick update:
1. They have progressed.
2. They have spread.
3. I am having a procedure this coming Friday (the 26th I think) to try and remove the cells.
4. Only a 5% chance they will come back. If they do I will be referred.
5. Prayers please!!!!!
All-in-all we are doing quite well.
Tomorrow is Brooklyn's big 4th birthday party bash. We have 2000 ladybugs in the fridge, 32 homemade ladybug cupcakes, homemade games and more. Pictures from our recent trip to Galveston and Houston to come soon as well as b-day pics!!!!

Dance Recital 2009
Today Brooklyn had her dance recital at Liberty High School. The performance today did not go quite as well as the rehearsal last night did. Whoever thought it was a great idea to have rehearsal with all the auditorium lights on was crazy to have the actual performance with all the lights off. HUGE difference for 3 yrs old when they are walking out to pitch black & then boom- lights shined down right on them on the stage. FREAK OUT! Regardless she did teh best she could and added her attitude at the end, "Next year I better be able to see you guys!" I will add pictures from her rehearsal later- got to get those from a couple other moms.

Finally an Update...
It has been forever since I posted last. I vow to try and get better with it. I guess it is safe to say that the girls have been doing much better so I haven't had a whole lot to update on.
Summer:
I guess I will add a few notes on each member of the Gibson Gab!
Brooklyn:
1. Has her BIG basketball performance on May 9th. She can't wait for that trophy!
2. Is still too big for her britches- sassy pants!
Kennedy:
1. Is bossy and very independent.
2. Talks non-stop.
3. Will be having an OT evaluation on May 5th due to some hand/muscle control concerns.
4. Will join a study for Nystagmus at the Retina Foundation in June.
Summer:
1. Still shows the precancerous cervical cells.
2. More round of biposies June 8th with possible procedure to remove "sick' areas of cervix.
3. Got a van for my birthday- TVs, leather seats, seat warmers, GPS, rear camera and more!
4. Is ready for summer break!!!!
Justin:
1. Has started spring football.
2. Is loving the van because mommy drives and he watches movies with the girls.
